The supplier writes the paper. The agent attempts. Korrex grounds or refuses.
That refusal is the motor. When the edge moves, determinism converts what was a click into a hold; the hold produces a ruling, the ruling produces a rule, and the next run passes clean.
The agent read the fault from FMS, the open PO from ERP and the bay availability from WSM, then attempted the transaction at the gate. Nothing about the request is novel.
The request passes through to WSM and the commitment is recorded against the PO. Total elapsed at the gate: milliseconds.
It did not approve. Approval implies discretion. Korrex found a rule in force and applied it — the same input produces the same verdict a year from now.
Nothing. A governed transaction generates no work for anyone. This is the state the loop reaches for every class of event.
Between runs, SUPPLIER-05 issued RATE-2026 · AMENDMENT 1, raising the after-hours loading. It arrived the way supplier paper always arrives: drafted by the counterparty, in terms that favour the counterparty. The invoice line now cites a term Korrex holds no authorised version of.
What was a click yesterday is a hold today — not because the system broke, but because determinism has nothing to judge against. Three further requests in the same class hold behind it.
It did not adopt the amendment, negotiate it, price it, or quietly let the line through because it looked reasonable. Adopting supplier paper on arrival is how the leakage started.
One request in Assurance, addressed to the CONTROLLER: authorise the amended loading, bound it lower, or reject it. The whole class waits on that one ruling.
The controller ruled at Assurance: BOUNDED — the amended loading is accepted up to a ceiling below what the supplier asked. Korrex compiled the ruling into the rule set and released everything held behind it.
The class is retired. The next hundred after-hours requests pass without reaching a human, and the supplier invoices against a ceiling the enterprise set rather than one it accepted by default.
It did not make the decision. A named human did, under a delegation they hold, and their name is on the sequence. Korrex compiled the consequence and nothing more.
The loop closes. One human minute converted an open-ended leak into a rule, and the curve of anomalies per thousand events steps down again.
Knowledge moves at machine speed. Authority moves at human ruling. The gap between them is a hold, and a hold is the only work the loop creates.
